Dear Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 pupils and their parents and carers
It was announced this week that the summer examinations would not be taking place this year for pupils in Years 10, 11, 12 and 13 and I realise that this news is distressing to you. Please be assured that we are doing everything that we can to support you through this process and keep our pupils safe.
The government has stated that pupils due to sit their GCSEs and A levels this summer will be awarded a fair grade to recognise their work, drawing on the range of information that is available. As yet there are no further details or clarity about what this actually means. However, at this time it is important that our pupils do continue with their studies.
I will provide more information when further details are released. I would recommend that you monitor the school website for more information.
Finally, I would like to offer my congratulations to all our pupils for the hard work and commitment they have made to their studies so far this year. For those of you in Year 11 and 13, whilst this is not the end of Year 11 and 13 that we expected, I hope you will approach the next few months with the same level of determination and resilience that you have shown so far. I wish you all the very best of luck and hope to see many of you in Year 11 rejoin us in September to continue your studies in our sixth form.
Best wishes to you all,
