A Level Results Day

Pupils at Cantonian High School once again achieve excellent results!

Pupils, parents and staff at Cantonian High School are celebrating excellent A level results today.  100% of pupils achieved their A levels with 67% achieving 3 grade A* – C qualifications. Pupils who completed vocational qualifications also achieved excellent results with 100% achieving pass or better grades, many of whom achieved Distinction*/Distinction grades. In addition 75% achieved A* – C grades in the Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate of the Welsh Baccalaureate.

Headteacher, Diane Gill said “I am again incredibly proud of the achievements of all our sixth form pupils today. They have shown commitment and resilience throughout the last two years and have worked hard to ensure that they achieved the best grades they could. It is clear that their hard work has finally paid off as many of our pupils have secured places at a university of their choice where they will be able to continue their studies. I am delighted with the increased number of pupils accepting university offers both locally and further afield to study a range of subjects including Business and Management, Accounting and Economics, Fine Art and Forensic Investigation and Pharmaceutical Science. I want to congratulate all our pupils and wish them well as they take up these places at university, or go on to employment.

These excellent results demonstrate the high-quality of education offered here at Cantonian High School, and cements the findings from our recent Estyn inspection, where the school was identified as being GOOD in all inspections areas; the second highest grading possible.

Finally, I would like to take the opportunity to thank all our parents for their ongoing support and to the staff for their hard work and dedication which has enabled Cantonian High School to secure these excellent results.”
